Passion for the vineyard

Like the roots of the growing branches, our passion for the vine is buried in the land and in time.

Thanks to this, and to the shelter of the orography of the land as well as the climate of the Jalón Valley, all perfectly linked to the traditional knowledge how of our people, we achieve the quality of our products.

The fame of our wines goes back in time.

Our high lands, over 400 m above sea level, are divided into small plots (bancales) that have calcareous and stony soil such as Bernia, Cau, Planises, Maserof, etc. have joined together with our Giró variety, creating an excellent bases for the elaboration of our red wines.

Soils that contain more clay such as those in Alcalali, Pasulas and Cutes are perfect for cultivating the grapes we use for our Malvarrosa wines.

The Lliber Valley (Pla de Lliber) with its deep and fertile soil is ideal for our dry but very fruty rose wines.
Besides using the Garnache grape we are also very proud of our Muscatel variety. During the 19th century and up to the 20th, the raisin trade was one of the strongest economic pillars of the region. The “Pla de Lliber” was an ocean of Muscatel. Nowadays this variety, known also as Roman Muscatel or Muscatel of Alexandria, has as much presence in the “Pla de Lliber” as in other areas like “Gorgos” or along the banks of the Jalon River. These soils are dryer and rockier perfect for the Muscatel grape we use to make our sweetest Mistelas (dessert wines).

If we have to talk about our star product, it would be without any doubt our Muscatel white wine and it’s best representative would be the Bahía de Dénia a dry fruity white wine and Bahía de Dénia Dolç our sweet white, both made exclusively with the best Muscatel grapes from the deep and clayey soil of the Pla de Llíber.

We also have other grape varieties like the Tempranillo and we have been recently introducing other varieties, used with great success in other parts of the world, such as Merlot, Shiraz, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
