Last 13th and 14th November, Bodegas Xaló participated together with more than 400 wineries from all over Spain in IFEMA MADRID, in the XXIII Hall of the Best Wines of Spain.
In this 33rd edition of the Guía Peñín 2023 of the wines of Spain, more than 9,900 wines have been tasted and rated. With 1,248 pages, it is the most complete, accurate and up-to-date guide to Spanish wine.
When scoring the different wines, the tasters appointed by the institution take into account colour, flavour, aroma, structure and intensity. The complexity of the wine, originality, nuances and variety are also taken into account.
The limited edition red wine 1962, made with Giró grapes from the vineyards that gave rise to the winery, and aged for 13 months in French oak barrels, it has obtained a score of 90 points in the Peñín Guide 2023.
The limited edition Riu Rau mistela, handcrafted from the finest sun-gilded Muscatel of Alexandria grapes, it has been awarded a score of 91 points in the Peñín Guide 2023.
These awards attest to the effort and the great tradition of Bodegas Xaló in the production of wines of extraordinary quality with the best grapes of the Muscatel of Alexandria and Giró varieties.
