The Virgen Pobre de Xaló Valencian Cooperative, better known as Bodegas Xaló, represents the very essence of tradition in the Vall del Pop, a region whose history is intrinsically linked to the cultivation of grapes. In this edition of the 34 Mostra Proava, the prestigious jury has once again surrendered to the excellence of Bodegas Xaló, granting well-deserved recognition to its star products. The Mistela Riu Rau, worthy of the Eduardo Mestres award for achieving the impressive score of 98 points, stands as an authentic sensory treasure, made with Muscatel of Alexandria grapes that have been caressed by the Mediterranean sun.
But the awards don't stop there. He Bahía de Dénia Fermented in Barrel Cosecha 2021 has been awarded the Gold Medal in the White Category, standing out for its uniqueness and exquisiteness. This dry white, enriched by its rest in French oak barrels, delights the senses with its unique nuances and enveloping softness.
Likewise, the Serra de Bérnia Roble has been distinguished with the Bronze Medal in the category of red wines up to 6 months in barrel, reflecting the winery's mastery in the production of red wines of exceptional quality. Carefully aged in French oak barrels, this silky and aromatic wine captures the very essence of the Alicante region.
